At
V3Synergy, we believe that no improvement project should
be undertaken by itself.
Before we proceed with any project, we will seek to understand your
entire business. We will
map your physical and data workflows, gather relevant metrics and
make sure that the project we undertake will have a definite,
lasting impact on your business.
Our analysis is based on the tools of Lean, Theory of Constraints and Factory Physics. Some of the tools and techniques we use are:

Process Mapping
Mapping processes through
flowcharting data flow or physical movement helps you
understand your processes more fully, identify bottlenecks
and detect wasted movement.
We will analyze the actual throughput at each station
to determine if and how much factors (such as uptime,
makeready or speed) at each station need to be improved.
We can also calculate the optimum buffer sizes.

Mass Balance Waste Analysis
The principle of the mass
balance is that all the material (generally paper) that is
input into a process must exit that process in some fashion.
Some material exits as finished and sold goods, some as
finished but unsold goods, some as bindery or trim waste,
some as press waste, etc. A thorough analysis of your
material exit streams provides a picture of where waste may
occur; further analysis of these input and exit amounts
provide the exact data of where waste is occurring.

Production Efficiency Toolbars
This tool provides a unique
method to track the actual production efficiency of a piece
of equipment. A Production Efficiency Toolbar compares
actual production, scheduled and unscheduled downtime and
speed loss to the theoretical maximum output of the
equipment. This shows where machinery is inefficient;
and over time tracks improvements in machine efficiency.

Training Matrices
Our unique Job/Skill/Task matrix
breaks jobs down into their smallest, most trainable
component, providing you with an easy to use checklist to
track whether employees are trained and are proficient at a
given Job, Skill or Task. Our methodology uses written
and hands-on testing to help managers assess their
employee's skill proficiency.
