This paper is a case study of how the proper workflow and facility
design can impact operational throughput. Specifically, the
use of Eli Goldratt’s Theory of Constraints is examined.
The Production Efficiency Toolbar
This paper examines a new way to view machine productivity -
comparing productivity as a percentage of theoretical maximum
output. Measurements are created and compared for “good”
output, waste output and unscheduled and scheduled downtime.
The tool makes it easy to compare the actual production waste from
downtime and slower speeds.
